Insurers pay up in local authority claim
A contractor installed an air-conditioning system on a public building. A unit later caught fire, causing damage of more than £800,000. The contractor’s public liability insurers reserved their rights for breach of the sub-contractor’s warranty and instructed lawyers. We acted for the contractor and after some months of hard evidence-gathering and deft footwork successfully got the insurers’ agreement to pay. On hearing the good news our client wrote:
