Loss adjusters for the policyholder

My role

I manage the structural and strategic aspects of the business and deal with our major partners and stakeholders. I handle some of the more complex cases, including expert witness work.

My Experience

I spent most of my adjusting career travelling the world on major claims with an international adjusting firm until I founded Claim Experts Ltd in the late 90s. That experience embraced all classes of business: property and business interruption, mostly in heavy industrial sectors; loss as a result of financial crime and contingency; big construction projects and a few other oddball cases on the way.

I have degrees in law and English, the usual CILA and CII qualifications, and a postgraduate diploma in accounting and finance.

Other industry activities

When the British Insurance Law Association prepared for the Law Commission its report on insurance law reform (which is likely to be enacted whenever Parliamentary time permits) I chaired the claims working group and still take an active interest in the reform process.

I write for the trade press on claims matters, and do occasional radio and TV broadcasts on insurance claims and the consumer.

Outside the office

I’m a keen trekker and hiker, in wild places all over the world from the Sahara through the Himalayas to Alaska. I’m an avid theatre and classical music fan, and an enthusiastic cook. I have a season ticket at Reading Football Club, though Tottenham Hotspur is my first loyalty.
