Loss adjusters for the policyholder
Peter Garnham
Role
I am one of the East Anglia-based directors, doing the full range of property, liability and business interruption claims in the east of England, as well as running our agricultural and rural activities account nationally.
Experience
I started my working life in an insurance company. My adjusting experience has been eclectic and has included claims for a wide range of legal liability cases. My work has taken me into many European countries. I set up my own practice, Garnhams, in Norwich in the 1990s doing traditional insurer-instructed work, but in 2004 decided to concentrate on policyholder representation.
Other industry activities
I have always been very active in the Norwich Insurance Institute, serving on Council as a Life Vice President, as its President on three occasions including this year.
Outside the office
I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do; I don Lycra as many times a week as possible to maintain fitness and I am a motorbike enthusiast with a love of touring - all incongruous pastimes for a grandfather, perhaps? An old house with a large garden and a love of home-grown vegetables gives me plenty to do at home.
I travel the world with old mates to visit battlefields - indoors I read and pretend to be Jimi Hendrix by plucking my left-handed guitar.
