John Carpenter

My role

Together with my colleague, Mike Nelson-Smith, I am responsible for developing our business in the Midlands, particularly with the broker market.  I am also the company’s compliance director and responsible for all internal systems.

Experience

Most of my adjusting career was spent with big adjusting firms in the UK handling major property and business interruption losses and some specialist liability claims. I set up my own practice in November 2003, merging it into Claim Experts Ltd in 2005.

I have both FCILA and FCII qualifications.

Other industry activity

I have trained candidates for the CILA examination in Commercial Claims and undertaken local training in property and business interruption claims for BIBA.

I am a current member of the Birmingham Insurance Institute Council and former chairperson and secretary of CILA Midlands Area.

Outside the office

I like to keep fit and have been a member of a local health & fitness club for over twenty years. I am also a keen rugby union fan, a member & season ticket holder at Leicester Tigers.

I enjoy listening to music, particularly rock.
